Richard Barron
Did you know that poor breathing patterns, specifically “over-breathing” (or hyperventilation) are more common amongst the general population than you might think?
And overbreathing is implicated in (or known to exacerbate) many conditions including chronic fatigue, PTSD, burnout, asthma, respiratory conditions and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.
Our breath is something we rely on every minute of every hour, and optimizing it - mechanically, biochemically and psycho-physiologically - is essential to experience optimum health and performance - and to avoid disease.
Those who “overbreathe” actually reduce the efficiency of oxygen delivery to their muscles and cells, reducing their overall health and performance - and ironically creating the feeling that they are unable to get a good breath of air (air hunger).
They find it almost impossible to get into the state of flow, where optimum performance can be found, and when breathing is not mechanically sound they run the risk of injury during movement. The major breathing muscle the diaphragm is important in stablising the core.
Whether your goal is greater relaxation and flow states, recovery from chronic disease, or improved sports performance, optimizing your breathing patterns, and training with specific breathing exercises, is key!

We assess and then train individuals from all walks of life to optimize their breathing patterns from three dimensions:
We practice and utilize the tools of The Oxygen Advantage.
Paul is trained as Advanced Oxygen Advantage instructor by renowned breathing expert Patrick McKeown.
In sports, athletes are always looking for the next thing to deliver a competitive edge, to get the best out of their bodies when it really counts.
By optimizing breathing patterns, and then actively training using specific breathing techniques, we can help you increase:
We do this by using breath hold techniques which simulate High Intensity and High Altitude training.
The beauty of these techniques is you do not need to be a super athlete to benefit, for example if you are unable to do high intensity training for whatever reason, and you do not need to travel to a high altitude. You can increase your endurance and oxygen carrying capacity from your own home.
